Nyasa Big Bullets FC has on Tuesday suspended training due to the Covid-19 positive cases the team has registered.
Bullets reported three cases on Christmas Day and later recorded eight more cases on Monday when the rest of the squad, officials and support staff went for a round of tests.
As a protective measure to prevent further transmissions, the club has reached a decision to suspend all group sessions until Monday, 4th January 2021.
While the eleven are in isolation, the club will continue to monitor the situation. We expect to go for another round of testing before returning to normal training.
Head coach Kalisto Pasuwa says: “It’s very unfortunate that we have ten players down and at the same time, our training sessions have been cancelled when we were still working on coming up with the right combinations.
“Our fitness was also coming up, but this break will likely affect our progress and trajectory. However, life is more precious than soccer and we should treat it as such. I’m confident that the boys will come back stronger.”
Bullets were scheduled to play BE Forward Wanderers in the TNM Super League on Saturday, 2nd January. The Club has since written the Super League of Malawi to consider shifting The People’s Team’s next match to next weekend.
