Kalisto Pasuwa has taken a 20-man squad to Mzuzu for this weekend’s TNM Super League clash against Ekwendeni Hammers.
Nyasa Big Bullets left Blantyre in the morning of Thursday and are expected to be in the Northern City late afternoon in preparation for the Saturday showdown at Mzuzu Stadium.
Goalkeeper Rabson Chiyenda and defender Miracle Gabeya are the two players that did not make the trip from the squad that faced MAFCO away in Lilongwe last weekend, with Ben Manyozo and Luke Chima being the latest inclusions.
Chiyenda is expected to be on the sidelines for a number of weeks after a latest scan on his ring finger revealed the ‘keeper has a fracture, while Gabeya missed Tuesday’s training due to a cold.
Malawi first-choice goalkeeper, Ernest Kakhobwe, who only trained with The People’s Team from Monday to Wednesday after missing all sessions the whole of last week due to illness following his return from national duty, has also missed the Mzuzu trip.
Stanley Billiat, who made his first team debut from Bullets Reserve a week ago against Mzuzu Warriors at home, will have to wait for his first trip away with the team as he is also not part of the travelling squad.
Bright Munthali, who made a recent return from injury is not fit enough to be considered for a long trip and possible selection, despite being featured for 66 minutes during our 0-2 win against Mighty Tigers on 5th April.
Apart from Chiyenda, Bullets have five more registered players on the injury list, including Pilirani Zonda, Henry Kabichi, Lanjesi Nkhoma, Precious Phiri and Hassan Kajoke, who recently resumed light recovery training.
