We take each game as it comes – Pasuwa reacts to Bullets’ fixture change

The People’s Team will face Ekwendeni Hammers at the Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday following a change in the TNM Super League fixture.

Initially, Nyasa Big Bullets were scheduled to play league leaders Civo Service FC at the Kamuzu Stadium this weekend.

According to the previous schedule, Civo were supposed to return to Blantyre a couple of days after their two away fixtures in the Commercial City against Mighty Tigers (1-1) on Saturday and Ntopwa FC (0-4) on Sunday.

But, a rearranged fixture by the Super League of Malawi will see Kalisto Pasuwa’s side hit the road again few days after a trip back from the Capital where the team collected a point in a 0-0 tie against MAFCO on Saturday.

The outing to the North means the defending champions will be playing a third consecutive away match in a space of 13 days.

Reacting to the new arrangement, The People’s Team head coach Kalisto Pasuwa says his side will take each game as it comes.

“In football, as soccer coaches, we do our own part and then there are people who are supposed to look at fixtures and they saw it fit for us to be on the road again.

“As the technical panel, we take every fixture as it comes and we don’t have any problem with that. We just need to prepare well so that we go and play good football,” Pasuwa said on Monday as Bullets returned to the training pitch to resume preparations for the next tie.

Speaking to Bullets Media, the coach added: “The most important thing to focus on is how to recover in such circumstances in order for the players to regain their fitness when we play on Saturday”.

A trip to Mzuzu for the 11th fixture in this campaign will see Bullets remain with four games to wind up the first-round.

The People’s Team, currently in third spot with 19 points from ten games, will play Civo at home on April 24 before facing Be Forward Wanderers in an away Blantyre derby clash at the Kamuzu Stadium on May 1.

Pasuwa’s side will then be on the road again for another Lilongwe trip to face Silver Strikers at the Silver Stadium on May 8, a week before winding up the 2020/21 TNM Super League opening round with a home tie against Kasungu side, TN Stars, at the Kamuzu Stadium.
