FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have announced a vibrant 18-man squad to face Silver Strikers in Sunday’s FCB @30 celebratory match at Bingu National Stadium.
The fixture, part of First Capital Bank’s 30th anniversary commemorations, sees two of Malawi’s most decorated sides meet in a festive showdown in Lilongwe. Although the bank has only sponsored Bullets for the past two years, the occasion celebrates its broader contribution to the game and community development.
Head coach Peter Mponda has made several changes to the starting lineup, giving opportunities to players who have seen limited action in recent matches. Clever Mkungula starts in goal, supported by a defensive line of Andrew Jovinala, Chikumbutso Henderson, Blessings Joseph, and Henry Chiwaya.
In midfield, Paul Master is set to make his long-awaited debut for The People’s Team after being successfully registered during the week. The midfielder joined Bullets on 30 May.
Bullets Reserves captain Oscar Petro has also been named in the matchday squad for the first time. Should he make his debut, the youngster could play alongside his older brother, Ernest Petro, in a landmark moment for the family and the club.
Frank Willard captains the side from midfield, joined by Ernest Petro, with Lameck Gamphani, Hassan Kajoke, and Ephraim Kondowe leading the attack.
On the bench, Mponda has included a mix of youth and experience. Among them are two Reserves graduates promoted this season—Austin Chirambo and Edward Thengo. While Chirambo is eyeing his first minutes, Thengo has already made two senior appearances, featuring in the Airtel Top 8 semifinal against Karonga United and the TNM Super League midweek fixture against Moyale Barracks.
