FCB Nyasa Big Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa admitted that his side wasn’t clinical enough to punish Moyale Barracks despite creating plenty of goal-scoring chances in a disappointing goalless draw in the TNM Super League away in Mzuzu on Monday afternoon.
The People’s Team had more than eight clear-cut chances in the opening half, and three more opportunities in the final period, but couldn’t find the much-needed goals to register their fifth draw of the season.
Reacting to the result, Pasuwa said he has a lot of work to do for his strikers to start scoring from chances created.
“A game that we missed a lot of chances that we created. But we did well defensively. They [Moyale] were playing one-route football where they were hitting long balls and we managed to contain them.
“The only concern is our inability to convert chances into goals. We created plenty of them but we failed to score, and in the end, two points were dropped. We need to go and work with our strikers for us to have goals coming,” Pasuwa told journalists at Mzuzu Stadium.
With Silver Strikers opening up an eight-point lead over the defending champions in the title race, the tactician said he will take every game as it comes.
“It’s an important game for us, but we take each game as it comes. Silver Strikers are coming on us, but we just need to encourage the boys to play football. There is no difference and the same way we approach games, have a positive mind and have points coming,” he commented.
Bullets will face Silver Strikers on Sunday before the international break.
