June Player of the Month Nominees

Share

It is yet another opportunity for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets fans to vote for the most outstanding player for the month of June, courtesy of our partner Hubertus Clausius.

June was not a busy period for the first team as we only played two games in the TNM Super League and a single fixture in the FDH Bank Cup due to the international break.

The defending champions played Ekwendeni Hammers and Kamuzu Barracks in the league before facing Ndirande Stars in round 32 of the FDH Bank Cup.

Bullets beat Hammers 4-1, drew 0-0 against KB, and beat Ndirande Stars 4-0 to progress to the round 16.

After this extraordinary performance, Ernest Petro, Patrick Mwaungulu and Lanjesi Nkhoma have been nominated by the Bullets technical team for the Player of the Month of June.

Ernest Petro

He was nominated for the Player of the Month of May alongside Clyde Senaji and Lanjesi Nkhoma following his excellent performances in all the games he featured for that month.

However, the award went to Senaji, who amassed 48 per cent of the votes.

But the midfielder has been given another opportunity after being nominated again among the standout players in June.

As usual, he was instrumental in getting four of the possible six points in the league and our progression to the next round of the FDH Bank Cup.

Patrick Mwaungulu

The enterprising winger is not new on the list of nominated players ever since these monthly awards were introduced last season.

He has been nominated for the Player of the Month of June following his stellar performances in the three matches The People’s Team played.

The 21-year-old was on target when we thumped Hammers 4-1 and also provided two assists to his name, with his excellent pass meeting Nkhoma for the opening goal.

He also provided an assist to Anthony Mfune, who scored our fourth goal in that match.

Later on, he was named Man of the Match.

Mwaungulu, who is currently with Malawi at the COSAFA Senior Challenge in South Africa, also scored a goal and provided one assist during our 4-0 win over Ndirande Stars in the FDH Bank Cup.

This nomination clearly indicates how much he contributed to Bullets’ success in June.

Lanjesi Nkhoma

There is no doubt about this name, our current top scorer in the league and one of the best performers for Malawi at the COSAFA tournament.

The 25-year-old attacker had a goal and an assist during our 4-1 win over Hammers.

Nkhoma found the opener in the early minutes of the match before turning a provider to Mwaungulu’s goal in the second half.

He has eight goals to his name in the TNM Super League as he competes for the Golden Boot award this campaign.

This is his second nomination, having won the April award.

With the three players nominated, it is now up to the supporters to decide who should walk away with K200,000 and the beautiful accolade from Hubertus Clausius.

Send POM and the name of the player to 441. Each SMS will cost K50. Voting is opening for seven days, and the winner will be selected based on the number of votes accumulated.
