FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves are bracing for a critical stretch of matches as they prepare to take on Immigration FC this weekend, followed by a midweek clash against Nsanje United.
Trip to Chilomoni for Top-of-the-Table Clash
Heston Munthali’s youthful side, fresh off a dominant 5-0 win over Mwanza Stars at Kamuzu Stadium, will hit the road this Saturday for a top-of-the-table ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League showdown at Chilomoni Stadium. They face third-placed Immigration FC in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
The fixture comes at a crucial time in the title race, with Bullets looking to maintain their lead atop the standings. With 16 points from seven games, a win would not only extend their winning streak but also send a strong message to fellow title contenders.
Immigration, meanwhile, are in equally impressive form. The Passport Boys recently dispatched FOMO Reserves 5-2 and sit two points behind Bullets in the standings, with Ekhaya Reserves coming second with 15 points. A home victory for them could see them leapfrog the reigning leaders.
Dominant Record Against Immigration
Bullets Reserves carry a perfect record against Immigration, having won all three of their previous encounters. These include a 1-0 win in the 2021 PowerTex Cup semifinal, a 1-0 league victory in 2022, and a penalty shootout win (4-1) in the 2022 Nyasa Capital Finance Cup after a goalless draw.
Midweek Test Against Nsanje
After the weekend showdown, attention will shift to Wednesday’s home fixture at Kamuzu Stadium against bottom-placed Nsanje United. The match will precede the senior team’s TNM Super League tie against Moyale Barracks.
Bullets and Nsanje United have met only once before—in the 2022 Nyasa Capital Finance Cup semifinals—which ended 0-0 before Bullets edged the shootout 5-4.
Eyes On Six Points
With two matches in quick succession, Bullets Reserves will be pushing for maximum points to tighten their grip at the summit of the 2025 ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League.
