Inside Bullets this week

Share

It’s a new week and an eventful one for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, with the first team, the reserves and the youth side all scheduled for action.

The three teams have the TNM Super League, the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League and the Africa Herbal Mix U-19 Cup fixtures lined up for them.

We take a look at what’s coming ahead for Kalisto Pasuwa, Enos Chatama and Autry Kalulu’s sides, as the women’s team will be resting this weekend after reaching the semifinals of the FAM Women’s Football National Championship.

First Team

After beating Mafco FC 4-0 in the TNM Super League last Sunday, the defending champions will be on the road again for their second away fixture against the newly-promoted Extreme FC at Civo Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The People’s Team was in Lilongwe a fortnight ago for the 2023 Super League campaign opener against Silver Strikers at Bingu National Stadium, and they return to the Capital City for another important fixture in their quest to defend the title.

With Kalisto Pasuwa admitting that his charges will not find it easy this season, Bullets will go for the kill in order to send a statement of intent to would-be title contenders in one of the busiest seasons as the team will take part in five different competitions.

Currently in second position in the standings with points, a win in Lilongwe will see Maule collecting seven out of the possible nine points from three matches.

Reserves

Straight from their 9-0 victory over Zomba Airbase in their first match of the 2023 ThumbsUp Southern Football League campaign, Enos Chatama’s charges will now switch the attention to their next league fixture away from home against The Boys at Chilomoni Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Chatama will also be looking for important maximum points as our reserves are eyeing another championship this season. His side needs to do well in Group B, which comprises 11 teams and is dubbed as a “group of death” to reach the knockout stage of the competition.

Youth

A very important week for our youth side preparing to face Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Youth in the final of the Africa Herbal Mix U-19 Cup at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.

Autry Kalulu is eyeing his first cup as our youth coach.

This is Bullets Youth’s second cup final within a year after they lost to Ndirande Stars in the 2022 Manchester Motor Mechanical Center Under-20 Cup.

The lads reached the final after they hammered Soche Madrid 4-1 in the semis.

Women

Maggie Chombo’s ladies will not be in action this week after reaching the semifinals of the FAM Women’s Football National Championship with a 7-1 victory away to Topik at Mzuzu Stadium last Saturday.

Our ladies will return to the field of play with a semi-final tie against Ascent Academy in Blantyre on the weekend of 6/7 May.
