Inside Bullets this week

Share

The FIFA International Week is here, meaning no TNM Super League action for Bullets and the other 15 elite teams.

The People’s Team has contributed five players to the senior Malawi national team for the back-to-back 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

On Thursday Patrick Mabedi’s Flames will host São Tomé and Príncipe at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe before flying out to Malabo for a date with Equatorial Guinea on Monday.

Of our four teams, only the reserves will be involved during this International Match Calendar as second-tier games are not affected by the break, with the women and Under 19 teams still enjoying their off-season.

Read on to find out how our weekend looks and all updates on the rest of the sides.

First Team

Straight from our 1-0 home loss to Silver Strikers in the TNM Super League on Sunday, Kalisto Pasuwa’s men will have no fixtures to fulfil in what would have been Matchweek 10 of the TNM Super League.

Our next fixture will be on 15 June away in Lilongwe to Creck Sporting Club at Civo Stadium.

This break will allow Kalisto Pasuwa to work on some of the problems we have encountered in the opening nine league matches in which we have only won three games, drew five times and registered one loss.

Following Sunday’s first defeat of the season, the defending champions, are in fifth position on the log table with just 14 points, 11 points behind the Central Bankers, who are topping the standings.

Reserves

Enos Chatama’s charges will be looking to bounce back from their shock 1-0 defeat away to Soccer Rangers last Sunday.

This was their first league defeat in Group B of the Thumbs-Up Southern Region Football League in the 2024 season.

In their eighth fixture of the season, our reserves, currently topping their group with 14 points, will welcome MDF Marine to Kamuzu Stadium seeking maximum points to strengthen their grip at the summit over second-placed Ekhaya United, who also have 14 points but are separated by the number of goals scored.

Women

The off-season break continues for Maggie Chombo’s ladies as they await the dates for the start of the 2024 FAM Women’s Football Southern Region League.

Under 19s

Our youth side continues fine-tuning for the upcoming FCB Under-19 Championship slated to kick off this month. The vetting process was done last week and what is remaining is for the Southern Region Youth Football Association to announce the fixtures and set the ball rolling.
