Phodo’s volley versus Civil wins October Goal of the Month

Share

Maxwell Gasten Phodo’s sumptuous volley in the first leg of the 2023 Airtel Top 8 quarter-final tie against Civil Service United has been voted the Precious Medical International Goal of the Month for October.

To decide the first leg, Phodo opened the scoring for Maule in the first half before Hassan Kajoke doubled our advantage in the final period to register a vital 2-0 away win.

The former Silver Strikers central forward’s 34th-minute effort was simply beyond special.

On replay, he receives the ball from Stanley Billiat outside the box and tees up himself before hitting the ball on the bounce, fashioning a superb volley past the keeper to get the fans off their seats in awe.

It was a technique of top quality, one never to be seen for a very long time, and surely deserves to be recognized with the monthly award.

Bullets scored 14 goals in eight games in October and for Phodo to scoop the GOTM accolade his strike came on top over other eye-catching goals from Patrick Mwaungulu, Ephraim Kondowe and Lanjesi Nkhoma, who were also in contention for the award.

Congrats Max, keep on the magic and fun!
