Inside Bullets this week

As we are wrapping up the month of May, here is our guide for all FCB Nyasa Big Bullets teams this week.

First Team

After playing to 1-all draw away to Civil Service United last Sunday, the main team returns to Kamuzu Stadium for our third home match in the TNM Super League this campaign.

Kalisto Pasuwa’s men host Red Lions at the Soccer Mecca on Sunday, a third meeting against a military side at home this season, beating Mafco 4-0 in the second week of the campaign and Moyale Barracks 3-1 in Matchweek 4.

The People’s Team has played six games in the new season, gathering 14 points, scoring twelve goals, and conceding three.

Bullets, who are topping the standings with a better goal difference over second-placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, will be looking to maintain the perfect unbeaten home run at Kamuzu Stadium where they never lost a game the entire 2022 season.

Tickets for Sunday’s match are available at all outlets in Blantyre among them Kamuzu Stadium, Ndirande Ernegem Filling Station, Chigo’s at Kameza Puma Filling Station, Jak Shoppers in Blantyre CBD, Total Filling Station at Limbe Market, Nancholi Filling Stadium and Greenworld in Bangwe. For more details check on all club’s social media platforms.

Enos Chatama’s charges were held to a frustrating goalless draw away to FOMO on Saturday in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League and have another task as they gear up to face Ntopwa FC when the two teams battle for supremacy at Kamuzu Stadium on Monday.

The defending champions, who lost several key players to TNM Super League teams, have had a mixed start to the season, winning two out of the three games played in the Premier Division.

A win on Monday will see them maintaining their perfect record over Ntopwa, a side they have never lost to in the past five seasons.

Bullets Women continue fine-tuning ahead of FAM Women’s Football Southern Region League, which kicks off in June. Maggie Chombo’s ladies won a bronze medal in the just-completed season, and they will strive to bounce back from their slumber after they lost the Cup to Ntopwa Ladies.

Our Under-19 team is also waiting for the new FCB Youth Championship season slated to kick off next month. Autry Kalulu’s youngsters haven’t had any competitive game since winning the inaugural Africa Herbal Mix U-19 Cup earlier this month and will be looking to win their first league championship this season.

Having dropped two points in Lilongwe, our first team will be looking to collect full points over the struggling Zomba-based military side.

The defending champions have not lost to Red Lions in more than a decade and will be eager to continue their good run over a side that currently lies in the bottom three of the standings.

Our Reserves will also be looking to bounce back from their last week’s outing. It’s very rare for Chatama’s side to drop points at home regardless of the opposition.

We expect the team to return to winning ways as the search for more glory in what is likely to be a tough season continues for the side full of new faces.
