Inside Bullets this week

Share

It promises to be another exciting week at FCB Nyasa Big Bullets as all our teams will be in action this weekend.

After a 2-0 victory over Dragon FC in the CAF Champions League first preliminary round first leg away in Equatorial Guinea, the main team will land at Chileka International Airport on Tuesday afternoon to start preparing for the return leg at home.

The Reserves will also be at home for their match in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League, with the women’s team and the youth team also getting involved in the FAM Women’s Football Southern Region League and the FCB Under-19 Cup, respectively.

Let’s take a look at what’s coming ahead this week…

First Team

Straight from the emphatic 2-0 victory at the Estadio de Malabo on Sunday afternoon, Kalisto Pasuwa’s charges will return to Blantyre on Tuesday before proceeding to Lilongwe to welcome Dragon for the return tie at the Bingu National Stadium on Sunday.

The People’s Team goes into this match with a massive two-goal lead scored away and will be looking to complete the mission at home to set up a date against Democratic Republic of Congo’s TP Mazembe in the second preliminary round where the winner will make it to the group stages of Africa’s biggest club competition.

Bullets are expected to land at Chileka International Airport on Tuesday at 12:30 PM.

Reserves

Enos Chatama’s boys started their title defence in the second round with a hard-fought 1-0 victory away to Zomba Airbase on Saturday and they are likely to return to Kamuzu Stadium for their second match in the second half of the campaign against Mighty Tigers Reserves.

The fixture is subject to confirmation from the Southern Region Football League.

Bullets Reserves are top of Group B with 25 points.

Women

Maggie Chombo’s ladies have had a perfect start to the league title defence after they hammered Red Lioness 14-0 on Sunday, with the victory coming after whipping Bvumbwe 12-0 in the opening match a fortnight ago.

Our ladies’ next assignment is the first-ever derby between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women against Mighty Wanderers Queens on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium. A win will see them maintaining their top position in the Southern Region League.

In the opening two games, Bullets Women have scored 26 league goals and this weekend they will be facing a side that is coming from a 5-0 victory over Evirom Women’s FC.

Youth

They are topping Group A of the FCB Under-19 Cup with 26 points following their hard-fought 3-2 victory over Soche Madrid at the weekend and they will also be hunting for maximum points when they face Yizo Yizo Warriors, a side that ended our youngsters’ unbeaten run in the first round of this campaign.

Autry Kalulu’s charges will go into this fixture looking for nothing but victory to avenge that shocking defeat in the hands of a side currently anchoring the table.

However, our youngsters will need to be cautious to avoid a repeat of what happened in that first-round defeat.

It’s a busy week ahead and we are looking to having a productive week.

Tickets for our CAF Champions League return match against Dragon are already available at various selling points in both Lilongwe and Blantyre.
