May Goal of the Month Nominees

Share

Patrick Mwaungulu, Lanjesi Nkhoma or Stanley Billiat may be the latest Precious Medical International Goal of the Month award winner for their sumptuous strikes in May.

We relive the strikes for you to decide.

Nkhoma v Bangwe All Stars

With intelligent and predatory positioning skill, Nkhoma timed his run to meet a perfect cutback pass from Alick Lungu down the left with a decent tap into the bottom far corner in our TNM Super League 2-0 victory on 12 May at Mpira Stadium.

The opposition’s keeper and defenders were everywhere in the box but could do nothing but watch the ball slide teasingly into the back of the net, such was the beauty of the leading TNM Super League goal scorer’s strike.

Many thanks to this Nkhoma’s goal, Bullets opened the scoring on the day and beat the stubborn Bangwe with the second goal also coming from the wing forward.

Mwaungulu v Civil Service United

A few yards away from the area’s arch, Mwaungulu defied the distance with a rocket of a strike which at the end of the TNM Super League tie earned Bullets a valuable point away from home as we drew 1-1 against the Civil Servants at Civo Stadium on 21 May.

On a tough outing, the reigning champions were at threat of registering their first defeat in the new campaign when they went a goal down to Civil in the opening half. However, our little magician Mwaungulu stepped up with not only a beautiful goal but one of great value as well immediately after the restart.

Billiat v Red Lions

Released by a surreal long outside-foot lofted pass from his captain Precious Sambani, Billiat took a touch in the box and while under pressure fired a missile into the roof of the net.

His strike was the third for The People’s Team as we emerged 4-0 winners over the visiting Lions of Zomba in a TNM Super League fixture at the Kamuzu Stadium.

The connection between the pass from Sambani and the winger’s composure and ruthlessness to smuggle something at the near post made Bullets’ third goal against the military outfit a great goal and factual entertainment for the fans.
