Mwaungulu’s screamer wins Goal of the Month for May

Share

Patrick Mwaungulu’s equalizer in FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ 1-1 draw away to Civil Service United in the TNM Super League has been voted the Precious Medical International Goal of the Month for May.

The winger struck what was not only a collector’s item but also a worthwhile goal for The People’s Team at the Civil Stadium.

Mwaungulu, currently in South Africa with Malawi for the 2023 COSAFA Senior Challenge competition that kicks off on Wednesday, defied the distance with a velocious strike from around the area’s arch.

Bullets trailed 1-0 at half-time and the 21-year-old’s effort immediately after the restart salvaged a point on a tough outing which nearly ended in a defeat for Kalisto Pasuwa’s men in the capital.

His strike got more votes from the fans for the best goal in May over Lanjesi’s Nkhoma’s finish in our 2-0 victory over Bangwe All Stars and Stanley Billiat’s effort as we collected full points following a 4-0 defeat of Red Lions.

Congrats to Mwaungulu and many thanks to all who took the time to vote.
