Pasuwa wins non-Citizen of the Year accolade at Malawi Sports Awards 


FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has won the non-Citizen of the Year award at the 2023 Malawi Sports Awards.

The event is currently underway at the Bingu International Conference Centre in the capital Lilongwe.

The Zimbabwean, who guided The People’s Team to a quadruple last season, was nominated alongside Arjun Menon and Priyasha Santosh Shyrian.

He became the first coach in decades to win the TNM Super League for a fifth consecutive season. Pasuwa also retained the FDH Bank Cup for a second successful year in a season he also won the inaugural Castel Challenge Cup and reclaimed the Airtel Top 8.

He has also won the Charity Shield for a sixth year in a row.

Tonight’s award is his third individual recognition since he took over the reigns at Bullets in 2018. At the end of the 2023 campaign, he was voted the TNM Super League Coach of the Season, an accolade he first won in 2022.

His team was voted Football Team of the Year 2023 at the MBC Entertainers of the Year Awards hours after beating Silver Strikers on penalties in the Castel Challenge Cup on 30 December.
