Starting XI: Kalambo returns to face Luanar

Clever Kalambo is restored to the starting line-up, while Ahmad Kung’unde earns his first matchday squad inclusion of the season at Dedza Stadium.

Wedson Nyirenda has made one change from the side that defeated Karonga United 1-0 for this afternoon’s FDH Bank Premiership encounter against Luanar Mitundu.

Kalambo returns after serving a one-match suspension, replacing Maxwell Phodo, who moves to the bench.

Innocent Nyasulu retains his place in goal behind an unchanged defence of Yamikani Mologeni, Prince Chiumia, captain Blessings Mpokera and Emmanuel Kaunga.

Nyirenda has also kept faith with the midfield trio of Yankho Singo, Chawanangwa Gumbo and Wongani Lungu, with Kalambo joining Misheck Billiat and Ephraim Kondowe in attack.

Among the substitutes, Kung’unde is included in a competitive matchday squad for the first time this season.

The defender joined The People’s Team in March and gained minutes during our pre-season friendlies before sustaining an injury ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Bullets head into their final away fixture of the first round seeking a third successive league victory.

The 2-0 home win over Chitipa United was followed by last weekend’s success in Karonga, with Nyirenda’s men keeping clean sheets in both matches.

Saturday’s results leave Bullets provisionally fourth with 26 points from 13 games. Mighty Wanderers lead with 29, while Silver Strikers and Blue Eagles have 28 each.

Victory this afternoon would take us level with Wanderers on 29 points and above Blue Eagles. Silver host Goshen City Dedza Dynamos simultaneously, meaning the final order at the top will depend on both results.

Luanar enter the fixture eighth with 18 points from 13 matches.
