Voting is now open for the first Player of the Month poll of the 2026 season — but which of the four contenders will get your vote?
The People’s Team enjoyed an unbeaten August in the FDH Bank Premiership, collecting seven points from three matches while keeping a clean sheet in every game.
Bullets opened the month with a 2-0 victory over Chitipa United before travelling to Karonga, where they secured a 1-0 win. The month closed with a goalless draw against Mitundu Luanar at Dedza Stadium.
Three matches, three clean sheets and an unbeaten run provided the backdrop for the first Player of the Month award of the 2026 season.
The award is sponsored by BCA Travel & Tours, recognising the players who make a telling contribution to the People’s Team’s campaign.
The winner will receive MWK 1 million in cash and a bespoke Player of the Month trophy, courtesy of BCA Travel & Tours.
Four players have been selected as contenders based on their contributions throughout the month. Here are the nominees for you to choose from.
Innocent Nyasulu
What a month it was for Nyasulu between the posts.
The goalkeeper started all three of Bullets’ August league matches and played his part in a defensive unit that kept three consecutive clean sheets.
That run has also strengthened his impressive league record, with nine clean sheets in 15 league appearances this season.
Emmanuel Kaunga
Kaunga brought consistency and authority to the heart of Bullets’ defence throughout the month.
The defender started all three matches, providing a strong aerial presence as the People’s Team navigated three demanding league fixtures without conceding.
His contribution was not limited to his defensive work. Against Mitundu Luanar, Kaunga completed the highest number of successful passes for Bullets, underlining his composure and importance in possession.
Blessings Mpokera
The captain continued to lead from the back during a month in which Bullets remained unbeaten and defensively resolute.
Mpokera produced a standout performance in the 2-0 victory over Chitipa United, earning the Player of the Match award after helping the team secure a valuable three points.
His leadership and defensive contribution remained central as Bullets followed that result with a win in Karonga and a clean sheet in Dedza.
Clever Kalambo
Kalambo provided the attacking spark in Bullets’ opening match of the month.
The winger scored in the 2-0 victory over Chitipa United, while his pace, creativity and direct running offered an important attacking threat.
He missed the trip to Karonga through suspension but returned against Mitundu Luanar as Bullets completed the month unbeaten and without conceding a goal.
