Head coach Kalisto Pasuwa is not concerned about FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ away form despite winning just two games in six outings.
The defending champions registered a third draw in the new TNM Super League campaign with a goalless stalemate away to Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
In six away games Bullets have drawn three times and suffered one loss to collect 9 points out of the possible 18.
So far on the road, The People’s Team has collected a point each against Silver Strikers, Civil Service United and Kamuzu Barracks; full points against Extreme FC and Bangwe All Stars and dropped all three points away to Chitipa United.
Reacting to Saturday’s draw, Pasuwa told journalists: “[I am] not worried at all. I remember I told the media last time that the team is full of youngsters. They need to know what is happening now, and it’s a phase that will definitely come to an end. We can only judge these players at the end of the season.”
Analysing Saturday’s tie in Lilongwe, Pasuwa admitted that Bullets did not play according to expectations.
“It was a balanced game where we had few chances. And compliments [should] also [go] to the opposition for playing the game with intensity, but my team didn’t do enough in terms of our creative zones. We didn’t go and attack more, we didn’t create [many] chances for us to have goals, but it’s one of the results that you get in a game. We need to go [and do] our homework in terms of our attacking prowess.
“We definitely need to fix our away form. In order for a player to be complete, he needs to play home and away for us to get results. We came, for the second time that we have been denied a clear penalty. I don’t know how we will have penalties when we are playing football away from home,” he told the media.
During our tenth match of this campaign, Bullets had two penalty appeals dismissed by the referee Godfrey Nkhakananga.
Following Saturday’s draw, Maule have reclaimed the top spot in the standings and should Silver Strikers beat Karonga United on Sunday, Pasuwa’s men will move back to second.
Bullets and Silver both have collected 21 points but The People’s Team, playing a game more than the Central Bankers, has a better goal difference.
Next on the menu for The People’s Team is the Blantyre derby against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium next Saturday.
