It’s another busy week for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets as three of our teams will be involved from Friday to Monday.
Here is a guide to how this week looks for The People’s Team, with the men’s first team, the reserves and the women all having assignments.
First Team
The defending champions, who are now topping the standings in the TNM Super League with ten points from four games, will look forward to maintaining their winning run when they travel to Chiwembe to play Bangwe All Stars at Mpira Stadium on Friday.
The match was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday but the fixture was rescheduled by the Super League of Malawi as The People’s Team may travel to the capital Lilongwe for Kamuzu Day celebrations on Sunday.
A win on Friday will take Kalisto Pasuwa’s men to 13 points as Bullets are looking to defend the league title for a fifth successive season.
Reserves
Enos Chatama’s charges were in Mponela for the launch of the Champions Cup where they defeated Dzaleka Future 3-1 on penalties after a goalless draw in normal time.
Now, the focus turns to the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League where they will host Ntaja United at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.
In the previous season, Bullets Reserves’ unbeaten run was put to an end by Ntaja, who won 1-0 at their base, but the Premier Division defending champions avenged the loss with a 3-1 win at Kamuzu Stadium.
This looks likely to be an entertaining encounter between the two teams who are slowly developing a rivalry in the second tier.
Women
Straight from their disappointing exit in the FAM National Women’s Championship following a 3-5 loss on penalties to Ascent Academy, our ladies will fight for third place when they face DD Sunshine [Silver Strikers Ladies] at Mpira Stadium on Monday.
Youth
After winning the African Herbal Mixture Cup a fortnight ago, our youth side continues preparing for the FCB Under-19 Championship slated to kick off next month.
