Our 2023 Airtel Top 8 quarter-final opponents have been confirmed.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will face Civil Service United in the last eight of the two-legged tie.

This was officially confirmed during the unveiling of the Airtel Top 8 sixth edition held at Mpira Village on Wednesday.

A total of eleven matches will be played throughout the competition and the quarter-finals will be played on a home and away basis where goal aggregate and away goal rules shall apply, while the semi-finals and the final will be played in a single fixture.

Just like the last two editions, there was no draw conducted because the position one team was automatically paired against the eighth-place team, the second-place team playing the seventh team, third against sixth and fourth against fifth.

As revealed by the Football Association of Malawi, the competition will be played between September 23 and December 9 and will be participated by the teams that finished in the top eight in the 2022 TNM Super League campaign.

In the opening match, title holders Mighty Mukuru Wanderers will face two-time winners Silver Strikers, whilst Blue Eagles will face Moyale Barracks, with Kamuzu Barracks welcoming Mafco FC in an all-military affair on dates to be announced later.

Once the quarter-final matches are complete, the organizers will conduct a draw for the semi-finals.

This year, the Airtel Top 8 winner will walk home with K17 million and a beautiful trophy, and on top of that, all the teams will receive K1 million as a participation fee.

Bullets won the fourth edition of the competition for the first time in the 2020/21 season after beating the Silver Strikers 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
