Bullets Reserves smash Nsanje United 6-0

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves produced a sensational second-half display to dismantle Nsanje United 6-0 in a one-sided ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League clash at Kamuzu Stadium on Wednesday morning.

After going into the break with a narrow 1-0 lead, the young Bullets turned on the style with wave after wave of attack, extending their unbeaten run and cementing their place at the top of the table with a four-point gap over second-placed Ekhaya Reserves.

First Half: Relentless Pressure and Mhone’s Moment of Magic

The action sparked into life just two minutes in when Bullets earned an early corner. Kondwani Mhone delivered a teasing ball to Mussah Bwanali, whose stinging shot was brilliantly denied by Nsanje United goalkeeper Charles Smart—setting the tone for an energetic half.

In the 11th minute, the hosts kept pressing. A corner from Vincent Kampira forced a defensive scramble and earned a second successive set piece. Zaneel Jussab stepped up next, but his delivery was cleared by the visiting defence.

Bullets began to dominate possession and camped in the Nsanje half, growing in confidence and attacking rhythm. However, despite their relentless approach, they struggled to break down a tightly-organised backline.

The breakthrough finally came in the 44th minute. Awarded a free kick right on the edge of the area, Mhone stepped up and delivered a moment of brilliance—curling his effort beyond the wall and the outstretched arms of Smart to send the home crowd into celebration.

Second Half: Ruthless, Clinical, Unstoppable

Bullets wasted no time asserting their dominance after the break. Coach Heston Munthali introduced Movic Banda for Mussah Bwanali, a move that immediately paid off.

Two minutes in, Bullets won another corner. Jussab played it short to Kampira, whose fierce drive was once again kept out by Smart. But the pressure told moments later. Kampira won possession on the right flank and set up Prince Chalera, who calmly slotted past the goalkeeper to double the lead.

Just five minutes later, it was 3-0—Hadji Steven latching onto a precise ball from Chalera and finishing coolly.

In the 65th minute, Steven turned provider, floating in a perfect cross for Kampira to make it four with a composed finish—his first of the morning.

With the game effectively won, Munthali rotated his squad in the 75th minute, introducing Precious Juma, Kondwani Chaula, Yankho Phiri and Enos Hendeman in place of Gift Frank, Mhone, Chalera and Oscar Petro.

But Bullets were far from done.

In the 83rd minute, Kampira completed his brace with a clinical finish from Jussab’s assist. And five minutes later, substitute Banda wrapped up the scoring with a tidy finish following another flowing team move initiated by Steven.

Statement Victory

At the final whistle, it was a resounding 6-0 victory for the young Bullets—one that not only entertained the home crowd but also stretched their lead at the top of the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League to four points.
